December '08/January '09 Interested local candidates express an interest in being considered by completing the attached candidate online form which is sent automatically to the Chairperson for the Gates Democratic Committee or by mailing the same to the Chair.
February 2009 Candidate Selection Committee meets with interested local candidates for Democratic endorsement.
March 12, 2009 Gates Democratic Committee decides on local candidates for Democratic ticket.
April 2009 Selected candidates seek additional party endorsements.
June 2009 Petitions for designating selected candidates circulated by Gates Democratic Election District representatives.
July 2009 Petitions filed and periodic financial reports due by 15th.
August 2009 Annual mailing by Board of Elections to verify addresses for November voting.
September 2009 Primaries held as needed; campaigning hits full stride.
October 2009 Campaigning in full swing.
November 2009 Elections held the first Tuesday of November.
